Our tasks for this month include: Demo swimming pool storage shed and rebuild from scratch; Build a 20x10 cover for the Carpetball tables from scratch; Build a 20x20 cover for the outdoor BarBQ area. Ladies had a mailing and a construction of tote bags as projects.
All the guys began by Demo work on the old pool house. During that period we had all our team working on the tear down as well as two of the staff men.
Kerry, Bill, and two of the camp staff unload the 20 foot beams for the carpetball cover.
Bill cutting around a box to make a footing for the posts for the carpetball cover. Nice "Jack Hammer" that was quite helpful cutting thru the extremely hard clay soil.
Look real close and see the tiny holes in this pine tree. The local woodpeckers have drilled holes in most of the pine trees around the camp and have placed acorns in each hole. They do this as a temporary storage place for the acorns until the little worms in the acorns get larger and then they open up the acorn and eat the worms.
Fran holding 3 of the finished bags
Fran & Lana made thread catchers
Kerry doing some smoothing of concrete on pads for a new covering for outdoor food service.
Kerry and Bill mixing the concrete for the footings for the new outdoor food serving area.
Early stages of building a new pool equipment structure for the main campus pool.
Jerry finishing the tear down and adding some new cinder block at the old pool storage building as they prepare to build a new structure.
A few of the many white-tail deer on the camp property. Look real close and note the little "nubs" of antlers on the little buck on the far left.
Bill placing "shims" under some of the posts prior to bolting them down.
End of the week photo of the 20x20 steel frame for the new outdoor food serving area.
